Took advantage of Belle Belle Piano with Poses (free to Belle Belle groupmembers instore) that Dimitrova had helpfully placed on the snowy mountaintop on Infolit iSchool. Belle Belle items are beautifully crafted, but some of them have ... very FRIENDLY couple poses, ahem, ... however thought this one was rather cute.

Eyes redux
Eyeballs reappearing: 2 (v. good)Happy news, but makes me look rather an idiot (hey, nothing new there). After handcrafting previous post on sad loss of Indigo eyes, logged in and - they aren't lost any more! When I wear them, they appear! Which is great, but doesn't explain why they didn't work (and I tried them a few times) yesterday. Thinking about it, there wasn't the "missing from the database" message I got with "My Body Small Feet", so evidently wasn't a missing texture problem.
Anyway, here are both the Miriel Winter eyes (which you would have been hard pressed to see properly in my last pic) on the left, and the Miriel Indigo ones, on the right. As you can see, they are both very attractive. It is a shame Miriel decided to retire.

Shopping
Shops visited with students: 2 (good)On Monday had rare treat of combining shopping with genuine pedagogic experience, as had optional session showing Educational Informatics students delight of freebie hunting via shops and groups. Now must admit that is question whether should be blogging this as me, since in fact used alt, namely one Mikael Zanzibar. He is the only avatar in my possession who has current set of "entry level" avatars, as he was born last semester, so is more like what students have in inventory.
Had made notecard with landmarks and instructions and then we all tp-ed to Nicky Ree where sumptious gown awaited those able to successfully add selves to group by clicking poster. As you may guess, with 7 people clicking simultaneously, this was disaster and no-one managed to joing group. Luckily NR also has nice freebie wall including space suits so was not complete waste of time.
Then zipped over to Zero Style, a fave hair designer, which has 2 freebie hairs on offer. Pic shows Mikael demonstrating how to use the demos in the hair vendors, though don't think he's going to buy this one if he knows what's good for him. Two of my companions can only look on in disbelief.

Sadness
No. of sad databases: 1 (bad); No. of sad SL users as result : approx 56,000 (v.bad)
Lotte Linden just posted message to SL official blog saying "Our central database is sad, which leads to disruptions in several inworld services, such as teleports, search and profiles not working, and transactions failing. Please do not attempt any transactions with non-copy items at this time."
Could it be that databases can acquire Seasonal Affective Disorder? If possible, still seems unlikely explanation since must be quite sunny on West Coast of USA at present where computer is. Has database suffered bereavement? Perhaps mourning loss of motherboard or fan? Or is it technical term that someone with sense of humour has contorted into acronym "sad"?
At any rate is good insofar as deters self from wandering into SL instead of doing various work things which are outstanding. Here is picture of me dancing in SL which was supposed to be cheerful, but looking again I'm not so sure.

The blog of Sheila Yoshikawa on her adventures in Second Life. This may be very thrilling. Or possibly not.
